Anatoly Sidko
Head of Personnel Institute years: 1942-1968 1885 Born on 22 July in Kharkov into a family of peasants. 1917 Participated in the October Revolution. 1918 Fought in the ranks of the Red Army during the Civil war. 1921 Was wounded and left the army. 1922 Joined the Russian Communist Party Bolsheviks. 1925 Finished School for Militia Officers in Kharkov. Started to work in the District Militia Division of the Joint State Political Directorate of the USSR (OGPU). 1934 Entered the All-Ukrainian Institute of Soviet Construction and Law (from 1937, the Kharkov Institute of Law). 1939 Worked at the Investigation Department of the People’s Commissariat for Internal Affairs (NKVD). 1941 Fought in the ranks of the Rear Areas Protection Forces of the NKVD. Received the Order of the Red Banner for his courage. 1942 Was shell-shocked in April and sent to rehabilitation to the First Moscow Communist Military Hospital. In September, was sent to the Institute to work as head of the Personnel Department. 1968 Honorary retiree. No data after 8 November 1968. Awards and honours Order of the Red Banner (1941).
