Anatoly Vasiliev
Co-director Born in 1942 in a village in Penza region. He is a Soviet and Russian theatre director and teacher, founder of the theatre “School of Dramatic Art”, is an Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation and Laureate of State Prize. Graduated from the Rostov State University with a degree in Chemistry, then in 1973 graduated from GITIS (Russian Institute of Theatre Arts) in Moscow with a degree in directing. His theatre career began in Moscow Art Theatre, where he started as a director-intern, then went on to being First AD. From 1977 to 1982 – he was a director at Stanislavskiy Theatre. In 1982 he worked on the second stage at Taganka Theatre and engaged in educational work. He founded and became head of the Theatre “School of Dramatic Art” in Moscow. In April 2001 the theatre was accepted in the “Union of the Theatres of Europe”. In the DAU project he played the part of Krupitsa the Director of the Institute, later became a co-director of one of the films, “Empire”, consisting of 4 parts.
