Caretaker Institute years: 1952-1956 1933 Born on April 3rd in Lukachany Bukovina village into a peasant family. 1940 Entered the first grade as the territory of Northern Bukovina became part of the Soviet Union. 1943 Had to interrupt studies because of the brutal policy of the occupying regime. 1945 Moves with his family to the district centre. 1949 Completes Seven-Year Plan. Drafted into the army, served in the Moscow region. 1952 Went to work as a janitor at the Institute 1956 Arrested for theft.
